The kids and I reached Castle Rock, Colorado five days ago and the adventures have begun. Boxes upon boxes were piled high throughout the house. What a sight! We had a challenge as are boxes were not put into the appropriate rooms. As we began to open them, the items found new places on shelves, in new closets and on new walls to decorate. The garage is also packed so Nick will have a fun time putting his garage together.
This has been the hardest life changing event I have had to endure. Leaving California, where my family, friends, church, our community has been for the last 19 years is at times a real struggle. I have been so thankful that my mom has been with our family. It's been a blessing for me especially since I will miss seeing her daily. Thanks for being here mom!
The kids have met some new friends around the neighborhood. They are outside most of the day playing and coming in only to eat, sleep, and have some family time. This reminds me of when I lived in Minnesota; all the kids playing, the weather (sunny all day and then at about 5 pm in rains to cool off, families sit outside in their driveways and are together with the community. It's neat, I like that.
Our house...it seems as if our house is the house to be at. Our door bell rang today at 8:30 am to see if James could come out at play. They are having fun with his bike ramps. Tori has two third grade girls that enjoy playing with her in her room too. Hopefully she doesn't grow up too fast. :)
The house, it's beautiful! Mom and I have been working hard in getting the kid's rooms decorated. They look really cute. Tori's room is poke-a-dot and the boys room is a sports theme. The rest of the house is looking good. Furniture is placed and now we are starting to hang pictures and put decorative stuff around. Pictures will be coming soon.
I was encouraged my one of my sister-in-laws to begin a blog so I could write down my thoughts, share pictures and the adventures of our family. I hope that as you read you will
feel apart of our family and share in our new journey in Colorado.
Miss you all!
