A 2nd Grader's Adventure

James began his first day at Clear Sky Elementary on Friday, August 6th.  It was an adventure and God walked with us the whole way.  Friends has been a huge issue with James as we have moved.  He was very upset that he couldn't see his friends from Cali. in which he misses them very much.  Therefore he was worried and anxious about who his friends were going to be and how this process of friends would work.  Being around his age when I moved to Minnesota, we have been able to have some good conversation that has helped him in those moments.  Moving into the neighborhood that God had chosen way before us, James has a neighbor his age and in his grade that he sees everyday and gets to play with at recess.  What an amazing gift!  So the confidence that James had walking up to the school on Friday warmed my heart.  Sure, he was still scared, but as he reassured me he said, "I'll be okay mom, we prayed before we came."
So each morning the kids line up outside of the school at designated classroom spots and they walk into their classroom with their teachers. As this was the first day, it took some time finding the designated spot, but once we did, James found a new buddy, Ethan, who was also in his class.  As they walked away from me, I heard...
Hey James, we will stick together, okay?
Okay Ethan, thanks.

Thank you God for walking with us and even ahead of us!
